Conventional wisdom suggests you can't have it all—efficiency, fairness, and transparency—when designing team incentives. This paper shows that such contracts are not only possible, but can also be simple.​

Why do public health crises sometimes trigger a sharp divide in behavior, while in other cases, responses appear less divided? Instead of explaining these patterns through misinformation or partisanship, we show they need not be.
